The School and Role
A specialist school in Hillingdon, West London. are looking for a Childrens Mental Health Assistant to support young people and children with a diverse range of needs including moderate to severe and complex learning needs, sensory processing difficulties and associated speech, language and communication difficulties, including autistic spectrum disorders.
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will be based inside the classroom supporting students within education. Class sizes are small to ensure the needs of each pupil are met. You will be responsible for supporting their educational, social, and emotional development.
Requirements
The desired Childrens Mental Health Assistant will:
Have a caring, supportive and nurturing personality
Have experience of working with those with social, emotional, or mental health needs
Have relevant experience of working with children, young people or vulnerable adults
Be someone who is patient, caring and adaptable to each young person you will support
