Our client specializes in the design, manufacture, and testing of control panels, switchgear, and automation systems. They serve sectors such as utilities, water treatment, and industrial automation and are well known for delivering high-quality, innovative solutions.
What is the role?
The requirement for an Electrical Design Engineer has arisen for the detailed design, specification, implementation, and FAT testing of the control solution, working closely within the Norwich branch team.
What will my day-to-day duties look like?
1. Electrical Design of Motor Control Centres, Control Panels, and LV Switchgear.
2. DOL, ASD, Soft Start, and VSD type starters.
3. Air Circuit Breakers.
4. Fuse Switch Feeders.
5. Electrical design of ICA / Common Control Sections, including PLC & Network architectures, PLC I/O design, relay logic circuits, and Instrumentation.
6. Production of CAD schematics, Bill of Materials using AutoCAD electrical and Microsoft Access & Excel.
7. Component technical selection and obtaining quotations.
8. Production of technical reports.
9. Production of Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
10. Support tendering activities.
11. Support Project Management.
12. Support Manufacture & Test, including fault finding.
13. Support Installation and Commissioning activities.
14. Occasional site surveys / investigation works.
15. Client-facing activities including Design Reviews, Estimating assistance, Programme / Progress meetings, and Issue rectification.
