The Extracare Charitable Trust are recruiting for a Catering Assistant to join our kitchen team, based at our Pannel Croft Retirement Village based in Newtown, Birmingham. Role: Catering Assistant Hours: 10 hours per week - mixture of days (10am-4pm or 6 – 10.30pm this can include bank holidays and weekends Salary: £12.00 per hour As a Catering Assistant you will be expected to carry out the following tasks: To maintain kitchen and food stores in a clean and tidy condition. To maintain bar/bistro in a clean & tidy condition To receive and check deliveries of stores, chilled and frozen meals etc. To receive & check deliveries into stores. To record the temperature of chilled and frozen meals on arrival and transfer immediately to cold store. Prepare And serve a range of hot & cold light food and beverage in a licensed bar/bistro Ensure company Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) is followed for all food management. Work unsupervised after training & alongside other members of a small team of volunteers and catering staff. Person Specification Ability to support the catering function and deliver a customer focused service. Excellent communication skills. Ability to keep the bar/bistro area well organised and clean.
