Pinnacle Group are looking for a highly skilled experienced Project Engineer to join our team for a School Private Finance Initiative (PFI) project. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the planning, execution, and delivery of school defect and M&E projects ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
You will be joining our Total FM team based in Swindon. This team provides integrated asset management and maintenance services across various sectors to ensure facilities operate at their best.
This is a 12-month fixed term role. Flexibility is required to manage changing project requirements and priorities, working patterns will be determined by the projects but will include some early morning starts, evenings and weekend work.
Key responsibilities:
* Develop and update project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Coordinate with stakeholders, contractors and the operations teams.
* Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the project. Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, engineering standards, good industry practice, and quality control measures.
* Manage all identified remedial activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines. Engage with contractors to ensure competence, site safety, works scheduling (during school day and outside school hours). Conduct regular site inspections and address any issues that arise.
* Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as needed.
* Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, technical drawings, O&Ms, and financial records. Prepare and present regular updates to stakeholders.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications. Facilitate effective collaboration among project team members and external partners.
Key requirements:
* M&E qualifications and industry practice, construction management, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering, preferably within the education sector or PFI projects.
* Strong project management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, proficiency in project management and a solid understanding of compliance within an M&E environment.
* Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred.
