Senior Application Engineer

Role Overview
A Senior power electronic engineering role with a focus on providing excellent customer technical support. Reporting to the Engineering Manager as part of an expanding engineering team and working closely with sales and marketing to drive sales growth by providing the best customer service and support and positioning the company as an industry leader in products and technology.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
1. Providing expert, in-depth and responsive technical support to customers to maximize the design-in of our products into customer systems.
2. Conduct testing, simulation, analysis, and reporting in the European Power Lab to support customers and colleagues.
3. Develop close professional relationships with customer engineers and managers to position the company as the primary semiconductor partner for all customers.
4. Provide expert technical support to the sales and marketing team to maximize sales opportunities and drive sales growth.
5. Author and present papers, articles, presentations, and posters in academic and industry journals, conferences, and publications to support the awareness of the company as a technology leader in the industry.
6. Develop new test, simulation, and analysis capabilities in the European power lab to support the development into a global center of excellence for application support and market-focused research and development.
7. Establish close professional relationships with colleagues in research and development, maintain a detailed understanding of current and future products and technology, and support the development of new products.
Skills & Experience
1. 5+ years of experience in the power electronics industry with a focus on high voltage, high current semiconductor applications.
2. A master's degree (or equivalent learning or experience) in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
3. Extensive experience of the intricacies of designing high power IGBT and MOSFET based converters.
4. Expert knowledge of high power semiconductors and associated technologies.
5. A strong history of publishing articles and papers.
6. Wide experience of testing and analysing power electronics including the development of new test infrastructure and simulation capabilities and in-depth analysis of semiconductor performance and optimisation.
7. Expert in power electronics simulation. Experience of SPICE, PLECs, and Matlab preferred.
8. Excellent IT skills. Microsoft products essential. Labview, Python, and SQL desirable.
9. Excellent communication skills both written and oral. At ease communicating across languages, cultures, job roles, and seniority.
