Based in Northampton, the school has excellent transportation links for both drivers and those that would require to use public transport. A 30-minute commute from surrounding areas such as Milton Keynes, including various bus options, a lovely cycling route to the school, and a large car park. They have been rated a ‘Good school’ by Ofsted with great facilities in the school for teaching.
Responsibilities
* Lead the development and implementation of a dynamic and engaging Spanish curriculum.
* Mentor and support a team of Spanish teachers, providing guidance, resources, and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice.
* Promote cross-cultural awareness and appreciation by integrating authentic cultural experiences, literature, and media into the curriculum.
* Oversee the assessment and tracking of student progress in Spanish, ensuring that assessments are meaningful, fair, and aligned with learning objectives.
* Collaborate with colleagues across departments.
* Monitor departmental budget and resources effectively, ensuring efficient allocation and utilization to support teaching and learning goals.
* Build positive relationships with students, parents, and the wider community, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
* Fully Qualified Teacher status.
* Degree in Spanish or a related field.
* Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish, with a deep understanding of Spanish language, literature, and culture.
* Leadership experience or potential, with a track record of effectively managing teams and driving positive change.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
* Creative and innovative approach to curriculum design and delivery, with a commitment to student-centered learning.
