We are looking for an EHS Engineer/ Specialist to join our industry-leading Project Delivery and Construction team based in the Birmingham, UK.
In this role, you will assist in maintaining compliance with EHS policies and regulations for engineering services, construction projects, and validation/compliance services. Visits and assignments based on client sites in the UK and Europe to audit and inspect project compliance. Additionally, you will assist in administrative compliance activities as directed. This role is likely to regularly involve travel to project locations for several days to several weeks for longer-term site-based assignments.
Position Responsibilities
* Interfaces with client EHS teams and project teams to develop safety strategies, relationships, culture, and approaches throughout the project lifecycle.
* Assists design teams with implementing design safety on projects.
* Supports design safety reviews, designer risk assessments, safety coordinator duties, collation of safety information, and preparing project health and safety files.
* Assists construction project teams by supporting subcontractor qualifications, safety plan development and implementation, project compliance inspections, and project EHS regulatory guidance.
* Research regulations and assist with construction site EHS compliance.
* Performs EHS compliance audits and inspections at IPS project sites.
* Records and reports audits and assist with the implementation of corrective actions.
* Collates safety statistics and manages the reporting system.
* Provides on-site EHS support for projects that require continuous oversight.
* Prepare and deliver EHS training to the IPS team and supply chain partners.

Qualifications & Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in safety, Engineering, or a related field.
* 5-10 years of design and construction safety experience. (Knowledge and experience with construction safety topics such as – RAMS review and approvals, Permitting, SPAs, fall protection, trenching and Shoring, crane lifts, steel erection, hot work, confined space, emergency plans, etc.).
* Strong knowledge of Construction Health & Safety Regulations and design safety within the process industries.
* Experience in pharmaceutical Design/Build/Validate processes is a plus.
* Experience of being site-based (manufacturing or construction) or significant experience of providing site EHS support on Client Sites.
