Director of Operations Ickenham Permanent £70,000 - £80,000 per annum ________________________________________ Position Summary: Marble Talent are actively seeking a Director of Operations for our client based in Ickenham. You will be responsible for leading and managing the operations department, driving efficiency and innovation across all areas of the business. With a strong background in business development as well as mechanical and electrical systems, the ideal candidate will be responsible for optimising operational processes, enhancing client relationships, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and supporting strategic growth initiatives. This would be a great opportunity for someone currently working in a Commercial Manager, Head of Operations, Sales & Operations role. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities: Operations Management: Oversee daily operations to ensure alignment with company goals and strategies. Identify and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency and reduce costs. Ensure the successful delivery of projects, managing both internal teams and external contractors. Develop, implement, and enforce operational policies and procedures across all departments. Business Development: Identify new business opportunities and support the growth of existing client relationships. Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to design solutions tailored to client needs. Participate in negotiations and business presentations to secure new contracts and partnerships. Conduct market analysis and competitor benchmarking to inform strategic decisions. Mechanical and Electrical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support on mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring they meet regulatory and safety standards. Oversee the planning, design, and execution of projects involving complex mechanical and electrical installations. Liaise with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure successful execution of mechanical/electrical projects. Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and compliance regulations relevant to mechanical and electrical systems. Leadership and Team Development: Manage and mentor operations teams to foster a high-performance culture. Lead recruitment, training, and development efforts to build a skilled, motivated workforce. Monitor performance metrics and provide regular feedback to staff. Foster collaboration between operations, engineering, and business development teams. Financial Management: Develop and manage the budget for operations, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently. Monitor project financials, including cost control, invoicing, and profitability. Provide regular reporting to senior management on operational performance and financial health. Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Proactively identify and mitigate operational risks. Develop and implement contingency plans for critical operations. ________________________________________ Key Requirements: Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. A Masters degree is a plus. Strong knowledge of the mechanical and electrical sector, project management, and related technical processes. Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects. Skills & Competencies: Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Strong business acumen, with the ability to drive business growth through operational excellence. Ability to develop and maintain client relationships while understanding and anticipating their needs. Expertise in project management, financial analysis, and performance tracking. Strong problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
