We are seeking to appoint 1 full-time substantive Consultant in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery that has become available in the Integrated Breast Service at St. Richards Hospital, Chichester, as part of the University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. Less than full-time or part-time applicants would be considered.
The Integrated Breast Service sits within the newly formed Cancer Division. The West Sussex Screening Service is one of the busiest units inviting 128,000 women. We receive over 7,500 GP referrals and treat over 900 new breast cancers annually. Symptomatic patients are seen in one-stop clinics where triple assessment is carried out. Reconstructive procedures include IBR, LICAP, LTAP, MICAP flaps, complex therapeutic mammoplasties, autologous reconstruction procedures combined with Plastics. RF Localiser is being trialed.
This presents an exciting opportunity to help shape the direction of this Service, with innovative pathway redesigns or service models, engaging in a new monthly oncoplastic MDT, building further links with our Plastic Surgical colleagues at QVH, participating in the development of a portfolio of multi-disciplinary and surgical research, participating in undergraduate and postgraduate training, as well as that of allied health care professionals.
The Integrated Breast Services Division covers St. Richards Hospital in Chichester, as well as Worthing Hospital, and Preston Park Breast Centre and Princess Royal Hospital, Brighton.

* Support teaching & training of medical students, junior doctors & AHPs
* National trial recruitment
The service is looking at innovative pathway models and service redesigns, with delivery of key national performance targets.

Experience/Qualifications
Essential
* Basic medical degree
* Postgraduate qualification or appropriate specialist qualification
* Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
* CCT in Breast Surgery and Oncoplastic Surgery or equivalent (equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC)
* Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC
* Has an appropriate medical qualification and/or the intercollegiate Fellowship diploma in General Surgery (or related discipline) with an interest in Breast Surgery and Oncoplastic Surgery

* Membership of the Association of Breast Surgery
