Job Title: Health & Safety Administrator Location: Newton Heath, Manchester Salary: £23,500 - £25,000 (plus performance-related bonus) Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30am – 5:30pm) – flexibility available About the Company: Our client is a busy and rapidly growing industrial packaging company based in Newton Heath, Manchester. They are looking for a competent and responsible Health & Safety and Compliance Administrator to join their team. This is a key role that supports the day-to-day operations, ensuring that the company remains compliant with all relevant health and safety regulations. Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint, are essential for this role. Role Overview: The Health & Safety/Compliance Administrator will report directly to the General Manager and will be responsible for maintaining health and safety standards, managing compliance, and supporting HR-related administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in health and safety administration, with a focus on compliance, and a keen attention to detail. Key Responsibilities: Health & Safety: Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of health and safety policies and procedures. Monitor and update risk assessments to ensure full compliance with regulations. Maintain records of workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring appropriate actions are taken. Organise health and safety training for staff and management. Support regular safety audits and inspections to ensure safety protocols are effective. Assist in investigating health and safety incidents, compiling reports, and making recommendations for corrective actions. Maintain accurate documentation of health and safety activities, including training logs and audit results. Help manage PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) distribution and stock levels. Support the development of safety awareness programs and initiatives. Compliance: Develop and maintain a HR management system in line with ISO accreditation, covering areas such as time management, absenteeism, disciplinary actions, and training records. Log paperwork for new starters and leavers. Assist in preparing job descriptions, posting job adverts, reviewing applications, and shortlisting candidates for interviews. Support the development and implementation of HR policies on topics such as working conditions, performance management, and equal opportunities. Prepare staff handbooks and advise on pay and other remuneration matters. Key Requirements: Previous experience in health & safety and compliance administration. Strong Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel and PowerPoint). Keen attention to detail and a willingness to learn new skills. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
