This is a 2 year fixed term contract with potential to extend, subject to funding.
Role Overview and Duties
The Inclusion and Racial Justice Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting the Diocese’s mission to create a fairer, more inclusive community. Reporting jointly to the Disability Advisor and Racial Justice Officer, this role provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Inclusion and Racial Justice Teams.
You’ll work on a range of projects, events, and initiatives designed to support churches, clergy, and the wider diocesan community in fostering inclusivity and racial justice. This role requires someone passionate about equity and diversity, with strong organisational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. Serve as the first point of contact for both the Inclusion and Racial Justice Teams, handling sensitive queries with discretion and empathy.
2. Provide administrative support for projects, events, and training programmes led by the teams.
3. Maintain and update team pages on the diocesan website.
4. Organise and manage logistics for events, training sessions, and conferences (e.g., booking venues, coordinating catering, preparing materials).
5. Assist with planning and promoting key initiatives, such as mental health conferences, cultural awareness events, and inclusion-focused workshops.
6. Develop promotional materials for training and events, including flyers and handouts.
7. Manage online resources and content for the Inclusion and Racial Justice Teams.
The Organisation
The Diocese of Bristol is the administrative area of the Church of England that covers Bristol, Swindon, smaller towns and surrounding rural areas. Around 15,000 children and young people attend our 71 church schools and there are more than 200 churches in the Diocese, led by ministry teams. The Diocese can be seen as a family of 30,000 or so clergy, school staff and students, other staff, parish teams, volunteers and church attenders who work together with a common goal for all people to flourish and experience ‘life in all its fullness’.

Desired Skills and Experience
1. Passion for inclusion, diversity, equity and racial justice.
2. Able to work within a changing environment, adapting practices and processes to support the organisation.
3. Excellent and demonstrable IT knowledge, including knowledge of the use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word, Excel.
4. Experience organising courses and booking meetings.
5. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
6. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage positively and productively with a range of staff and stakeholders.
