Position: CMM Quality Inspector
Salary: £38,000 - £40,000
Location: Chesham
CNC Precision currently has an exciting opportunity for a CMM Quality Inspector to begin work for a leading manufacturing and production business in Chesham.
Due to rapid expansion and an ever-growing order book, we are hoping to recruit at least one additional CMM Quality Inspector to help ensure the quality and accuracy of the factory's function is well maintained throughout this new and exciting influx of work.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide support on day-to-day production activities through real-time problem analysis feedback to process/manufacturing.
2. Inspect, test, and measure materials or products from goods in receiving during preparation/production and packing.
3. Recommend and support continuous improvement, ensuring that solutions implemented allow for a smooth process flow with high quality.
4. Monitor operations to ensure all production and quality standards are met.
5. Ensure discrepancies and non-conformance are thoroughly investigated and corrected effectively and rapidly so that production flows uninterrupted.
6. Discuss inspection with senior members of the QA team, including test data to ensure conformity.
7. Ensure that all tooling/gauges are calibrated to the correct standard as required.
8. Ensure compliance with the QMS at all times and familiarize yourself with all aspects of the QMS to make well-informed decisions.
9. Document all quality criteria with properly written and clearly defined procedures.
10. Keep staff training up to date.
11. Lead and instigate good practices at all times (lead by example; QA is the example by which all other aspects of the business are set).
12. Perform any other duties as defined by the senior CMM QA team.
13. Support production part approval process (PPAP) activities.
14. Conduct 8D reporting.
Experience / Education:
1. A good understanding of English and maths.
2. Good written and spoken English.
3. Good computer literacy (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
4. An interest in the sciences.
5. A suitably qualified person (Experience in CMM QA role / engineering qualification i.e., degree).
6. Willingness to attend courses in support.
