This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting Year 7 students as they transition into secondary education. The Role The Transition Teacher will play a pivotal role in helping students with special educational needs adjust to the secondary phase of their education. Working closely with staff, families, and external professionals, the successful candidate will create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that caters to individual needs. Key responsibilities include: Delivering high-quality, differentiated teaching to meet a wide range of learning abilities and needs. Supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development during their transition period. Collaborating with primary and secondary colleagues to ensure continuity of learning and care. Monitoring and assessing student progress, adapting strategies as necessary. Building positive relationships with parents and carers to support students' holistic development. Requirements The ideal candidate will possess the following: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly in a transition or secondary setting. A strong understanding of the challenges faced by students transitioning from primary to secondary education. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, staff, and families. A commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
