The Head of Project Delivery role offers a unique chance to lead a talented team focused on transforming ageing infrastructure across London and the Home Counties. What you’ll be doing as Head of Project Delivery:
* Single point accountability and leadership for delivering a work programme in a defined geographical area, managing and assuring the performance of contractors to provide project outcomes on time, cost, and quality.
* Driving the development and continuous improvement of the Project Team and Supply Chain, striving to deliver enhanced health, safety & environment outcomes, customer delight, and superior commercial performance.
* Managing an extensive portfolio of large-scale projects with approximately half a billion annual expenditures.
* Developing and delivering an optimised programme to achieve all regulatory, statutory and internal outputs, deadlines, and targets.
* Sub-programme level outturn cost savings compared against final determination and company budgets.
* Collaborating with others to drive efficiency and implement improvements continuously. Preparing a delivery plan at the beginning of each project and being accountable for timely delivery of technical outputs, including Project Briefs for contractors to provide pricing.
* Engaging with external and internal stakeholders.
* Fostering a culture of accountability, achievement, and performance among team members and the supply chain, developing, building, and leading the team needed to ensure the success of your projects or programs.
What you should bring to the role:
* Background in a senior capacity in a construction or engineering role.
* Membership of a relevant professional institution or equivalent.
* Previous leadership and management background in building and developing a team to success in the construction and development of vital infrastructure.
* Experience in developing and implementing processes and procedures on a large scale, particularly regarding technical quality and continuous improvement.
* Ability to understand, assimilate, and articulate everything in the business strategy and case, ensuring it is captured and delivered through the project and engineering solution.
