Who we are
greentech is an integrated PV specialist. Founded in 2008, our scope of activities now comprises project development of PV plants and battery energy storage systems as well as planning, building and operation of PV plants in selected European markets. We offer further services in the areas of quality assurance, yield maximisation, financing and electricity marketing. With a team of more than 200 people in Germany, the UK, Ireland and Italy, greentech manages a portfolio of over 1 GW in operational management, has realised almost 130 MWp of ground-mounted photovoltaic systems and has its own project development pipeline of over 8 GW. In addition, we develop investment structures for a substantial proportion of these assets for institutional investors.
In order to support our Operational & Maintenance Team in the UK, we are looking for a motivated full-time (40 hours per week, taking part in an on-call rota) Electrical Site Technician based in and around Skeeby, North Yorkshire. The ideal candidate shall be an approved electrician, have previous experience or technical knowledge of PV systems, including good dexterity and confidence in using electrical equipment.
About you
* Have a good understanding of Microsoft Office and phone/tablet document reporting structures.
* Have a good understanding of Health & Safety standards and Regulations.
* At least two years’ working experience in the installation and maintenance of electrical systems for Solar PV sites.
* Highly reliable, team-oriented and structured way of working.
* Hold a Level 1-3 Technical Certificate in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
* A high degree of responsibility and ownership.
* Hold a vocational qualification (NVQ LV3) in the electrical industry.
* Hold 2391 test and inspect or equivalent.
* Have National Electrotechnical Training (NET) AM2 certificate.
* Hold a ECS Electrician Gold Card or in the process of obtaining (we can assist).
* Hold a site safety certificate (CSCS or ECS or equivalent) - we can also provide this training.
* SMSTS preferable.
* HV AP desirable.
The Role
* Installation of cabling and modules on the arrays.
* Terminate cables and connectors at DC and AC distribution boxes.
* Install cabling on monitoring and communication equipment (data logger, routers, sensors, etc.).
* Fault identification on electrical components, comms equipment, and monitoring equipment by means of testing.
* Carry out annual testing (string testing, DC main cable testing, IV curve testing, and thermal imaging).
* Carry out test and inspection of AC equipment under the guidance of the QS and in accordance with BS7671.
* Compile necessary reports and update the ticketing system.
* Manage subcontractors onsite.
