About the role
As a growing drug discovery CRO, we are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic and talented synthetic chemists to join our team.
The synthetic and medicinal chemist positions currently available at Sygnature Discovery are predominantly lab-based roles, wherein much of your time would be at the bench working towards complex bioactive targets. The successful candidates will employ a multitude of both classical and cutting-edge organic transformations, as well as a variety of analytical techniques, in pursuit of target compounds. You will have access to industry-standard software for literature searching, data analysis and experimental documentation. You will also be offered a broad range of training opportunities, covering all aspects of both synthetic and medicinal chemistry, to assist with your long term personal and professional development, along with opportunities for long-term career advancement.
Key requirements:
* A PhD, or equivalent, in Synthetic Organic/Medicinal Chemistry, or a BSc/MSc in Chemistry with additional industrial experience.
* Extensive experience designing and performing multi-step synthetic strategies towards target compounds.
* Ability to time-manage the implementation of multiple synthetic sequences in parallel, performing multi-parameter optimisation, as required.
* Broad experience performing common organic transformations on a variety of scales, and utilisation of both 1D and 2D NMR techniques.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work well within a team environment.
