We are therefore seeking an experienced Clinical Specialist / Bio Surgical Skills Assistant (site and MobileLab) to work within our Medical Education department at our head office in Birmingham. The Job Reporting to the Capabilities Manager, this position will work within a diverse team of Medical Events, Hospitality and Lab Assistants, and will be responsible for executing all lab service activities within our on-site cadaveric lab, also providing support to the running of our mobile lab facility. The post holder will be actively involved in coordinating lab training on the use of new and existing Arthrex products and technologies and providing customer support for physicians, field staff and other colleagues involved in the lab service. Tasks and responsibilities: Responsibility for the stock; monitoring and restocking of instruments, consumables, and implants that will be used during training. Preparation of the necessary equipment (preparation of the laboratory, workstations and ancillaries for each training session). Responsible for the handling and installation of anatomical parts before the start of each training. Provision of logistical and technical assistance to lab participants Appropriate inventory management, recording and ordering as required Support of the field training team during events in the lab Ensuring a frictionless process of the workshop, i.e. recognition of the situational requirements and corresponding action (e.g. disposal of waste, pre-sorting of instruments) Notification and initiation of measurements in the event of any technical faults or repairs Post workshop breakdown, e.g. sorting, cleaning and decontamination of the laboratory and instruments. Contact for customers and colleagues Participation in proposals on internal improvement opportunities Cost-conscious handling of the furnishings, equipment and all goods of the lab Implementation of the key task assigned by management in compliance with internal operations, applicable laws, guidelines, and regulations as well as compliance with hygienic and ethical requirements Connection and set-up of the mobile lab with the necessary on-site connections Support of training teams during events Prepare and maintain specimens and inventory stock Assist with the general internal maintenance of the MobileLab Assist with the Coordination between the customer and the sales force, determination of the on-site contact partner in order to organise the MobileLab deployment (dates, location etc.) Organisation of the surgical techniques which are to be presented, including selection of the necessary articles/instruments Coordination of MobileLab deployments at events and congresses as well as on-site support, including the supervision of live interventions Maintain Mobile Lab visit reports in Ungerboeck as well as necessary compliance documents Maintain necessary educational level to assist HCPs and provide relevant support General requirements: Proactive with good organisation, time management skills and ability to prioritise workload. Practical, reliable and flexible approach to working Strong team player who works well in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills, with ability to successfully build rapport with internal and external stakeholders Customer focused mindset Willingness to train in orthopaedic product knowledge as well as knowledge of surgical techniques. Education and Professional Experience: Successfully completed an accredited qualification in medical technology or similar scientific subject area and/or several years of professional experience in a surgical specialisation or training environment. Relevant experience would include having worked in a role such as a sterilisation officer, nursing assistant, stretcher bearer or ASH, which has provided familiarity with the operating room or laboratory environment and to master the associated principles of hygiene and safety. Please note however that we are open to profiles from other environments also. Working Arrangements: Please note that this is a Full-time position (40 hours per week) working shift patterns between the hours of 07:00 and 18:00 Monday to Friday. However, given the nature of this role and as training slots may vary, flexibility and willingness to work evenings, weekends and public holidays may be required on occasion as well as regular travel and overnight stays to support the MobileLab facility where required.
