Shift patterns: 4 on, 4 off, day time only

DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business, is seeking a Warehouse First Line Manager to play a vital role coordinating our daily logistics requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of supply chain supervisory practices and a demonstrative understanding of warehouse procedures, including storing goods and dispatching orders.
WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
1. To directly assist management by reporting on and monitoring the effectiveness of all warehousing activities and performance in your designated area.
2. To supervise, implement and coordinate productivity by communicating job expectations to direct line reports, ensuring that all deadlines are safely met within allocated time frames, while always maintaining standards of excellence.
3. To lead the work activities of the site providing effective leadership, communication, motivation, training and development, and team management for the workforce.
4. To track and trace orders using a digital in-house tracking software system, ensuring that records are maintained and kept at optimum level.
5. Ensure operational service levels are met and exceeded through the achievement of operational KPI's.
6. People Management and Team Leadership in line with the defined business values.
7. Work in collaboration with other departments and DHL sites to maximise efficiencies and best practice.
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

1. Previous and practical experience as a FLM, Supervisor or Team Leader within a logistics environment is essential.
2. Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain practices.
3. Previous experience of preparation and distribution of volume orders.
4. Computer literate with a practical knowledge of logistics software packages.
5. Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to supervise, organise and train direct reports.
6. A recognised qualification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics will be well-received.
