Job Title: Estates and Facilities Officer
Pay and working hours: £23,846 per annum, Full-time
We are working with a Further Education college based in Kidderminster who are looking for a permanent member of staff for the Estates and Facilities Officer position.
They are looking for someone to start immediately:
1. To contribute to the security and welfare of staff, students, and visitors to the College.
2. To contribute to the security of the building by undertaking routine patrols.
3. To undertake porterage duties as required.
4. To drive College vehicles to transport goods, staff, visitors, and in exceptional circumstances students, as and when required.
5. To clear up immediately any hazards to staff and students (e.g. broken glass etc).
6. To undertake routine and planned maintenance tasks such as, but not limited to, water testing, emergency light testing, and other tasks within their competence.
7. To undertake maintenance and minor improvement works such as, but not limited to, tiling and painting. To advise their line manager of any fabric or fittings requiring attention.
8. To supervise subcontractors on site carrying out small project works, routine, reactive, and planned maintenance activities.
9. To maintain a clean College environment by sweeping, tidying, and cleaning the frontages, entrances, and exit areas of the College as and when required (e.g. pedestrianised area at the front entrance of the college building).
10. To act as designated key holder and undertake the locking/unlocking of College premises and to record time of callout in the diary.
11. To operate heating system, fire, and security alarms as directed.
12. To administer first aid as and when necessary.
13. To undertake duties off site associated with College activities.
14. To liaise with local police/fire/ambulance emergency services to protect employees/students/visitors/members of the public and College and civic property from fire, flood, accidental damage, etc.
15. To undertake a range of duties associated with 'goods inwards' including receipt, logging, and delivery.
16. To train other employees in the technicalities and duties of the job when requested to do so.
17. To participate in the College's Annual Professional Development Review Scheme and to undertake and attend all appropriate training and staff development events to ensure continuous professional development.
18. To comply with College financial regulations and standing orders.
19. To comply with all legislation including Data Protection, Health and Safety rules and regulations, Discrimination, the College's Equal Opportunities Policy, Quality Assurance Policy, and all other College policies and procedures.
20. To assist in the maintenance and supervision of the college minibus fleet.
21. To undertake any other duties appropriate to the level of the post.
