The role requires a flexible approach to the work of the Street Scene Group, and a high level of commitment to delivering excellent service is essential. The role will cover the highest standard of cleansing services are delivered and maintained for residents in the South Lakeland area. The nature of the work means that the post holder will come into contact with members of the public, and a polite and helpful approach is essential. This position will involve lone working. Applicants must hold a current full driving licence. The post will be based in Ecclerigg and will require working Tuesday to Saturday 7.00am to 3.00pm and Saturday 7.00am to 2.30pm. Candidates will need to be physically fit and able to carry out the waste collection rounds. They will also need to have good customer skills and professional attitude as they are representing the Council in the local area. Successful candidates will be required to undertake IOSH Working Safely and will also have the opportunity to undertake a level 2 qualification in sustainable resource management. Full training will be given in the use of any plant or machinery with which the successful candidate may be unfamiliar.
