Your Role?
* Manage workshop production to ensure projects meet quoted hours and budgets.
* Monitor capacity and advise management on potential shortfalls or overtime needs.
* Update job statuses and assist in forward production planning.
* Oversee transport of subcontracted work and materials, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting defects or discrepancies.
* Support the estimating process as needed.
Commercial Duties:
* Collate daily job sheets and review non-productive time.
* Conduct stock audits, address stock discrepancies, and request purchase orders for consumables.
Health & Safety:
* Ensure risk assessments and method statements are followed, and report noncompliance.
* Ensure proper use of PPE and maintain up-to-date HSE records.
* Report accidents and near misses and ensure the team understands reporting procedures.
* Maintain a clean, safe working environment, following fire and safety regulations.
Quality Control:
* Ensure all work follows company procedures and ISO 9001 standards.
* Maintain material traceability and documentation for costing.
* Ensure subcontractors and staff comply with company HSE, quality, and environmental policies.
* Provide continuous improvement feedback to management.
Team Leadership:
* Motivate and develop staff for optimal performance.
* Conduct daily briefings, tool box talks, and address any performance issues.
* Ensure new employees are properly inducted and trained.
* Communicate training needs and ensure tasks are completed during staff absences.
Your Experience?
Essential
* Client facing (ability to liaise with customers and suppliers)
* Working to engineering standards.
* Experience with pipe fitting
* Experience supervising a workshop team within the industry
* IT literate (computer skills)
Desirable
* Experience of structural fabrications
* Experience of vessel manufacture
* NEBOSH (willing to work towards)
