Job Overview The role involves supporting the Senior Room Leader in delivering and maintaining the highest standards of Montessori education and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) implementation. The successful candidate will assist with staff supervision, school planning, administration, and fostering strong relationships with parents and children. You will also uphold safeguarding standards, manage the classroom environment, and ensure compliance with OFSTED regulations. Key ResponsibilitiesEducational Leadership Support and inspire the team to deliver the highest standards of Montessori ethos, curriculum, and EYFS implementation. Coordinate school planning (individual aims, weekly, term, and yearly plans) with staff. Oversee and support the implementation of the Montessori curriculum and EYFS to foster a positive and stimulating learning environment. Team Support Support the mental well-being and morale of the team. Monitor staff performance, provide regular supervision, and keep the Nursery Manager updated. Assist with interviews, inductions, and staff reviews in collaboration with the Senior Room Leader. Be responsible for the day-to-day running of the school during the short-term absence of the Room Leader. Administrative Responsibilities Maintain accurate and up-to-date child records for the classroom. Manage "My Montessori Child" registers and observations. Review and ensure high standards of the EYFS and Montessori curriculum implementation. Address complaints in line with the school’s policy and procedures. Ensure the classroom aesthetics and environment align with the Montessori brand values. Parent and Community Engagement Develop and maintain a constructive rapport with children and parents. Support the Senior Room Leader in maintaining effective communication with parents regarding progress, upcoming events, and changes. Promote the school’s creative classes and other educational programs to families. Safeguarding and Compliance Have a thorough understanding of the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures and ensure they are followed. Support staff in managing safeguarding concerns and liaise with outside agencies when necessary. Maintain high standards of hygiene, safety, and confidentiality. Ensure all OFSTED requirements are met and records are maintained to regulatory standards. Qualifications Montessori or Early Years education qualifications (preferred). Knowledge of EYFS and Montessori ethos. Skills and Experience Experience working in a Montessori or early years setting. Strong organizational and planning skills. Excellent communication skills for engaging with staff, parents, and children. Experience in managing teams and fostering positive morale.
