Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our growing business. The candidate will work closely with the directors to support the business' ambitious growth targets.
Duties
1. Estimating costs: Calculating the cost of materials, labour, and time for a project.
2. Preparing contracts: Writing tender packages and contracts, including bills of quantities.
3. Managing budgets: Keeping track of project finances and making sure the budget isn't exceeded.
4. Monitoring subcontractors: Overseeing the work of subcontractors and paying them for their work.
5. Advising on legal matters: Advising on risks, disputes, and contractual issues.
6. Reporting on progress: Providing regular reports on costs and progress to clients.
7. Ensuring compliance: Making sure the project complies with health and safety and building regulations.
Requirements
1. Experience in quantity surveying or cost management is preferred.
2. Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
3. Proficient in cost control techniques and tools.
4. Strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively liaise with various stakeholders.
5. Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., MS Office, cost management software).
