A leading Jewish Charity is looking for a Family Support Worker to support the wellbeing of the carer's of survivors of the Holocaust. This is a highly unique and interesting role and would be a fantastic opportunity for someone with Counselling and Grief qualifications.
This role is a 3 day a week (the applicant can choose what days they work) on 9-5 hours paying £19,500 per annum.
You must have a Clean UK Driving License and access to a vehicle to apply.
Your Key Duties will be to :
* Travelling to visit carer's to offer emotional and practical support
* Increase their networks and peer groups so they feel adequately supported externally
* Providing emotional and practical support for family carers
* Support those family members who are affected by their family members experience and suffer from intergenerational trauma
* Run group meetings, support groups and training and wellbeing sessions
* Signposting all available resources, support and provisions
* Respond to incoming enquiries from new members and their Carer's
* To liaise with different departments where needed and use correct pathways for referrals
The Family Support Worker must have the following :
* Full UK Driving License and Vehicle - to travel to visits and groups
* Experience working in Social Care with families and/or dementia and Carer's
* Qualification in Counselling
* Understanding of the Jewish Community, the Holocaust and the effects on survivors and next generation family members
* Empathy, passion and understanding personality
This role suits someone who has a background in grief and counselling with a particular experience or interest in the Holocaust, empathetic nature with a fierce passion to help those who need it.
