Job Summary
We are recruiting an Interaction Designer to join our Digital Change Team.
The team supports and governs the design, improvement, and development of Ofsted’s digital services and infrastructure products. We collaborate with Colleague and Customer Technology teams and other parts of Ofsted to ensure effective digital solutions. We help projects adopt User-Centred Design (UCD) and design-driven development, ensuring that the services we buy or build truly meet user needs. The team provides expertise in User Research, Content Design, and Interface Design, alongside Architecture evaluation—considering how systems are or could be structured. The team includes User Researchers, Content Designers, and specialists in Technical, Information, and Enterprise Architecture.
As an Interaction Designer, you will play a key role in the design team, working to create and enhance our web-based digital services. You will help rebuild and improve Ofsted’s digital services, websites, and systems. This role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure user-focused, effective solutions.

Interview
Candidates who pass the benchmark at the shortlisting stage will be invited to an online interview where they will be assessed against a mixture of the Civil Service behaviours and the experience/technical skills set out in section 3 of the job specification.
Interviews will be held during the week commencing Monday 19 May 2025 via Microsoft Teams.
