We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Winchester, a category B Prison located in Winchester.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide the highest standards of healthcare to our patients, without having to compromise on efficiency and quality.
The working hours are Monday to Friday.
This position is full time, and you'll receive an annual salary up to £64,471 per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Provide clinical leadership for the primary care team, made up of a variety of registered and non-registered professionals.
* Act as a role model ensuring professional appearance and maintaining professional standards at all times.
* Work with the team to ensure patient safety, the management of complex cases, and ensure the most up-to-date treatment methodology is applied to patient care.
* Be accountable for your practice including the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and discharge or referral of patients, independent of medical intervention.
* Share your experience and knowledge by being involved in the educational and professional development of the nursing team through clinical supervision sessions both on the wings and formal teaching opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience required
* Registered NMC Nurse - Adult or Mental Health
* Independent/supplementary prescriber qualification
* MSc in Advanced Practice
* Experience working autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner
* Evidence of implementation of local and national policies
* Experience demonstrating high levels of clinical expertise in decision making and judgement

Job responsibilities
As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner with Practice Plus Group, you will need expert clinical skills and demonstrate judgement in assessing and managing wide-ranging and complex patient problems. You will provide clinical leadership for the mental health team. This multi-disciplinary team is made up of a variety of registered and non-registered professionals including mental health and substance misuse practitioners. You will act as a role model ensuring professional appearance and maintaining professional standards at all times.
Supporting senior clinicians on site, you will be part of the daily leadership team, providing clinical input for all patients. As a clinical expert in your field, you will work with the team to ensure patient safety, the management of complex cases, and ensure the most up-to-date treatment methodology is applied to patient care.
You will also:
* Provide: Outstanding evidence-based care, listening and acting on patient feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them. You will also provide assessment, diagnostics, treatment, and continued management of patients with acute and long-term medical conditions.
