About the role
Leading multiple development pods which consist of testers right through to team and tech leads, you will foster a collaborative and positive team environment, delegate effectively empowering team members to develop their skills and careers. You will also be conducting performance reviews and setting team and individual objectives.
In terms of agile delivery, you will implement and optimise agile development and testing practices, ensure effective sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily stand-ups. Central to this you will foster a culture of continuous improvement and will be tracking and managing project progress, identifying and mitigating risks to ensure timely delivery.
Working closely with the Test and Team Leads, you will establish a testing process and define and implement clear development and test processes for the pods. Ensuring code quality through code reviews, static analysis and adherence to coding standards, you will also effectively manage the dependencies and integrations between pods to promote seamless collaboration.
Taking a proactive, clear and concise approach to communicating with stakeholders across the organisation to provide updates and identify and address any issues, building strong relationships with other teams and departments will play a key part in your success.

* Demonstrates a passion for technology and a career path where you've moved up through software development roles to a leadership role.
* Proven experience leading and managing development teams
* Experience managing processes and identifying and implementing process improvements
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
* Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks effectively, and meet deadlines
* Relevant experience must include testing and automation
* A strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
* Ability to demonstrate where / how you have managed technical debt
Ideally, you will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field although this is not essential.
About your work location
This is a hybrid role where you will be expected in the office a couple of times each week (or more if you like). Our office is in the leafy market town of Haddenham in Buckinghamshire. Plenty of free parking onsite and close to the Haddenham and Thame Parkway railway station.
