About the Role
The successful Mechanical & Electrical Technician will be responsible for:
* Diagnosing and repairing vehicles, including servicing and parts replacement.
* Identifying vehicle faults and determining the appropriate repair methods and parts.
* Performing vehicle servicing and routine examinations, utilizing handheld data capture devices if applicable.
* Conducting vehicle road tests to identify defects or verify repairs.
* Carrying out PCV mechanical repairs. Knowledge of electrical systems is beneficial but not essential.
We provide overalls, specialist tools, and equipment needed for the role.
Hourly Rate
£19.98 per hour
Working Shift Patterns
* 38 hours per week
* Monday to Friday, 19:00 - 02:36
Candidate Requirements
* Minimum Level 3 NVQ or equivalent (e.g., City & Guilds Level I & II).
* Full Category B driving license.
* PCV license is not essential; support is available to obtain it.
* Experience with overhaul and repair of vehicle systems, including engines, gearboxes, drive trains, air systems, hydraulics, brakes, steering, suspension, cooling, and basic electrics.
* Familiarity with workshop equipment such as brake testers, lifts, hydraulic systems, battery chargers, jacks, scaffolding, and diagnostic tools.
* Experience with diagnostic equipment like flow meters, gauges, multimeters, and testing devices.
* Willingness to attend manufacturer product training, vehicle inspection courses, and recovery training, which may involve overnight stays.
