Commercial Finance Manager – Retail Group - Bury St. Edmunds (Hybrid) – Up to £45k

The commercial finance manager will ensure that the company's financial health is robust and that strategic decisions are informed by thorough financial analysis. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the business's financial future and ensuring its operational and financial efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
* Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
* Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning and decision-making.
* Conduct variance analysis to understand performance drivers and provide actionable insights.
* Business Partnering:
* Collaborate with department heads and senior management to drive financial performance.
* Provide financial advice and support to various business units, including marketing, sales, and operations.
* Work closely with the sales team to analyse customer profitability and product margins.
* Reporting & Analytics:
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and presentations for executive management and the board of directors.
* Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor business performance.
* Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to support strategic initiatives.
* Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal financial policies.
* Oversee the preparation of financial statements and coordinate audits.
* Strategic Initiatives:
* Support M&A activities, including due diligence and integration processes.
* Support financial projects to drive cost optimization and process improvements.
* Assess and mitigate financial risks associated with business operations.
The successful candidate:
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
* A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the retail industry.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
* Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
