Term Time Only - 21.6 hours per week over 41 weeks a year (0.6 FTE)
The School of Workforce Training and Development at South Thames College is seeking a Teacher/Trainer and Assessor in Early Years to support learners in completing qualifications in line with the standards’ criteria and the awarding body’s EQA requirements.
In this role, you will deliver knowledge and understanding in vocational NVQ/QCF qualifications that need to be assessed against awarding body criteria by an occupationally competent and qualified assessor. You will manage and deliver the induction, initial assessment, and skills scans of learners, and develop individualised assessment and learning plans that meet the needs of learners, employers, and awarding bodies. You will work with individuals on a 1:1 basis to ensure all methods of assessment are used in obtaining evidence, including observations of competence, professional discussions, case studies, and witness testimonies, adapting methods to meet specific learning needs.
We require you to have a successful track record of training and producing teaching resources, be qualified to a level 3 or above in the relevant sector, and hold a teaching qualification and relevant Assessor qualification (or be willing to work towards these). You should also have an understanding of Awarding Body standards and criteria, be computer literate (MS Office, online tracking systems, registration process), and be able to work flexibly throughout the week/over the year by prior agreement.
The role will be based at Tooting but may include delivery across the group sites, off-site classrooms, and working outside term times and normal working hours by prior agreement.
