Financial Reporting & Governance Manager Location: Southern Hub - Colnbrook, Berkshire. We are currently seeking a Financial Reporting & Governance Manager to join our team at DHL Express. As the Financial Reporting & Governance Manager, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring all corporate finance policies, international financial reporting standards (IFRS), and the internal controls framework to minimise business risk. You will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with IFRS and DHL Express accounting standards and policies, as well as maintaining the integrity of the Balance Sheet through effective management of reconciliations. Tasks and Responsibilities Supporting the Head of Governance and operating as an interface with other finance areas such as Controlling, Customer Accounting, Regional Controlling, Financial Shared Services and Corporate functions such as Tax, Treasury, Risk, Internal Audit and Pensions. Manage and monitor corporate finance policies, IFRS, and the internal controls framework to minimize business risk. Conduct regular Balance Sheet reviews to ensure quality and accuracy. Support the smooth execution of external audits and reviews. Supervise and review various business critical reconciliations, including revenues, collections, duty and taxes, and other areas of risk. Act as an interface with other finance areas, such as Controlling, Customer Accounting, Regional Controlling, Financial Shared Services, and Corporate functions. Coordinate with corporate functions, including Tax, Treasury, Risk, Internal Audit, and Pensions. We are seeking a candidate who possesses the skills to review and update controls and processes for full compliance with IFRS and DHL Group accounting standards and policies. They will ensure the integrity of the Balance Sheet through effective management and monitoring of reconciliations, while also addressing potential process and control issues in collaboration with the Head of Governance. Additionally, they will supervise Reconciliation Controllers and demonstrate strong coordination and communication abilities during the audit process. Activities & Responsibilities: Direct line management of two junior Reconciliation Controllers. Supervision and support of a Finance Graduate. Management of the EFSS relationship to achieve business objectives. Collaboration with auditors, Group and Regional functions, and Business Controllers. UK Express internal and external reporting to be best in class, in compliance with DHL Group policies and reporting guidelines. Ensure control, completeness, and integrity of processes followed by finance teams, minimizing risk and reporting surprises. Highlight financial reporting issues and make practical recommendations for resolution. Provide ad hoc financial support and analysis to the business and finance management. Work with the shared service center (EFSS) to ensure Balance Sheet integrity and avoid surprises or hidden costs. Assist auditors and tax consultants to minimize time and cost overruns. Liaise with Group functions and Process Towers. Ensure accurate and timely reporting reflecting business performance with a high level of accuracy and integrity. Keep senior finance management in UK Express informed of gaps in information or processes for timely corrective action. Aim for no audit qualifications or CFO letters, and minimal audit points or additional costs due to overruns or missed deadlines. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining best-in-class internal and external reporting for UK Express, ensuring compliance with DHL Group policies and guidelines. They will focus on controlling, completing, and maintaining the integrity of financial processes to minimise risks and surprises. The candidate will identify financial reporting issues, provide practical recommendations, and offer ad hoc financial support and analysis to the business. Collaboration with the shared service center, auditors, and tax consultants will be crucial for streamlining procedures and minimising costs. Effective communication and coordination with Group functions will be essential, as well as producing accurate and timely reporting. The ultimate goal is to achieve a smooth audit process with minimal qualifications or additional costs. Additionally, the candidate will contribute to mapping, developing, and implementing standard financial processes to ensure clarity, ease of use, and reduced risk and investigation time for stakeholders.
