The post is based at our Northampton site (NN1 5DG) providing clinical pharmacy input to in-patient and community mental health services. As part of the Pharmacy Team you will be provided with the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of clinical pharmacy services to a variety of mental health specialities; Adult and CAMHS Low Secure, Adult Medium Secure, Learning Disability and Autism Services, Neuropsychiatry Services. Main duties of the job The main duties will include providing a patient focussed clinical pharmacy service in an inpatient setting. You will be expected to provide a high level of pharmaceutical care to patients as a part of the wider multi-disciplinary team, participate in consultant ward reviews, undertake clinical audit (national and local level), and be actively involved in providing medicines education to patients, carers and staff. You will have the opportunity to develop policies and guidelines and will be supported by the senior pharmacists and pharmacy technicians within the team. You should be able to work on your own initiative as well as within a wider team. You should have a Master's Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent, and have current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council. You should be able to demonstrate evidence of postgraduate training, or equivalent experience, and continuing professional development in clinical pharmacy practice. Although experience in psychiatry would be desirable, applicants that have postgraduate qualifications in clinical pharmacy or primary care would be of interest. There is an opportunity to further develop with courses such as Psychiatry 1 and 2 offered by the College of Mental Health Pharmacy, A Postgraduate Certificate and Diploma in Psychiatric Therapeutics from Aston University, and a Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification (subject to successful completion of the probation period).
