Howdens Joinery are recruiting a Mechanical Engineer based at Howdens Work Surfaces at Normanton, West Yorkshire. This role is vital in keeping our site running smoothly through preventative maintenance, improvement project work and breakdown repairs.
The successful candidate will have completed an engineering apprenticeship and possess a background in maintenance within a manufacturing environment, with experience in a proactive safety environment.
Pay rate: £49,429.12 per annum (Basic rate, shift & disturbance allowance) + monthly production bonus
Shift pattern: 3 week rolling shift pattern, days and nights. Every Saturday off. For each three-week block, 11 days in work, 10 days off
What will you be doing as a Mechanical Engineer:
1. Proactive and preventative maintenance
2. Reactive breakdown maintenance
3. Continual improvement projects
4. Ownership and development of specific production line maintenance
What do you need to qualify for the Mechanical Engineer:
5. Experience in using CNC machinery
6. Knowledge and experience in high-volume automated manufacturing equipment, along with fitting and fabrication skills
7. Fault finding, root-cause analysis and corrective actions
8. Experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, robot and extraction systems is desirable
9. Experience of computerised maintenance management systems and the development of maintenance tasks is desirable
