Property Damage Litigation Lawyer
Competitive Salary + Benefits
Bishop's Stortford or London
Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced lawyer to join our busy offices in either Bishop’s Stortford or London. Hextalls Law is an established law firm which specialises in insurance litigation and dispute resolution. We defend a wide range of both pre and post litigated claims for a number of Lloyd’s syndicates and private clients. We are also well known specialists in travel law and represent a number of leading tour operators.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced property damage litigator to join our team and take on an existing case load. You will need experience in handling claims following fires, floods, machinery failures, construction incidents and a range of other causes. You will be used to dealing with claims pre and post litigation and have experience of various types of ADR. The role also requires consideration of policy issues, so experience in advising on coverage is desirable though not essential. You will have regular contact with clients and an opportunity to work closely with colleagues and develop our firm’s reputation in this area.
The Person
We are looking for a high calibre, personable candidate who is driven to deliver outstanding quality and services to our clients. You will be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as in a team. You will be confident in using electronic case management software and have excellent organisational, IT and written skills. You would be willing to help develop potential client relationships as well as strengthen our current client base.
Ideally you will have at least 7 years’ PQE experience in a similar defendant environment - although as we are focused on finding the right candidate, we are willing to consider applicants more widely. You will be comfortable working independently with a good network of support and have a sharp eye for detail.
What We Offer

2. 24 days' minimum annual leave in addition to bank holidays
3. Death in service
4. Gym subsidy
5. Private healthcare
