In this role you will be part of the Partnership Strategy and Assurance (PSA) team that supports our organisation by interfacing with Defra Group Corporate Services (DgCS) colleagues to manage how we receive corporate services. You will strive to maintain positive engagement with the networks we have between the EA and DgCS to ensure that we are represented and well-sighted on potential changes. You will support the PSA team manager by coordinating a range of planned and reactive tasks. You will do this by setting and agreeing goals and priorities, monitoring and reporting on progress and will look for improvements and efficiencies. The team also provides a decisions and approvals service to the business, in which you will be expected to pick up a working knowledge of. You will be a collaborative influencer and welcome the challenge of working internally and across DgCS to assure outcomes. You will be a self-starter and be able to influence positive change through the relationships you build. You will need the confidence and ability to understand, summarise and present management information in a range of formats to a range of stakeholders. You will act as deputy to the team manager if and when needed. A significant part of your role will be to support the wider Corporate Management, Assurance and Security (CMAS) team. We often receive commissions that cut across these teams requiring a collective effort and you will be expected to lead and / or support on these cross – cutting activities - as such you will be comfortable working in an agile manner and be able to work flexibly yet efficiently. The team The PSA team sits within CMAS, in the Strategy Transformation and Assurance directorate. CMAS manage a range of often business-critical activities including business continuity in our Organisational Resilience team; strategic governance in Organisational Governance; cyber and physical security in the Security team; commercial assurance in the Commercial team; and interfacing with Defra in the Synergy team. We focus on strategically developing and providing assurance on the cross-cutting elements of our partnership with Defra. Experience/skills Required First class communication skills, the ability to tailor your approach, build new relationships and negotiate. An eye for detail and analytical skills that enable you to produce reliable management information rapidly and concisely. A proactive and organised approach to work planning, tracking and delivery and a passion to seek efficiencies and innovations in all that we do. Demonstrable knowledge of EA organisational structure and how we interact with DEFRA. A network of relationships across the EA and DEFRA that you proactively maintain. Experience of working with senior management and be comfortable managing multiple priorities and competing demands. The ability to stay calm under pressure and react to a fast-changing environment in a logical and sensitive manner. A self-starting outlook and the flexibility to work outside of our team – bringing cross-functional know how and the agility to support the wider CMAS group.
