This role has a starting salary of £52,047 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week and will initially be offered as a 18 month fixed term contract.
Surrey County Council is seeking to recruit a Health and Wellbeing Policy and Programme Manager to contribute to our overarching ambition to reduce health inequalities so no-one is left behind. This will be through effective policy development, oversight of programmes that currently sit under the auspices of Surrey Health and Well-Being (HWB) Strategy and the HWB Board.

About the Role
The role of the Policy and Programme Manager is to provide expertise and oversight in the coordination of programmes within the Joint Surrey Health and Wellbeing Strategy whilst working to enable delivery against the strategy outcomes. This role deals with the changing political and policy context and the needs of different stakeholders by managing a wide range of relationships through collaboration with officers, elected members, partners, people who use our services and carers.
Day-to-day duties will include:
* Managing agenda of sub-board meetings and supporting its chair
* Close liaison with programme managers reporting on their outcomes as well as risks and challenges
* Working across the team on areas such as socialising the Health and Wellbeing Strategy, improving the Strategy Index of indicators of progress, and periodic involvement in wider research or other projects within Public Health and Communities
Shortlisting Criteria
To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:
* Understanding and experience of local government and the wider health and social care system and the benefits, opportunities and challenges associated with joint delivery of health and wellbeing through an integrated approach
* Proven ability to apply project management principles and techniques to a wide range of complex projects or programmes
* Ability to collate, monitor and interpret a range of data
* Proven ability to establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders
