Job summary
The Oral Health Improvement Service is a commissioned service within the Dental Division of Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The purpose of the Oral Health Improvement Team is to deliver evidence based, oral health interventions to reduce the inequalities in oral health, working across organisational boundaries within Birmingham and Solihull ICS.
If you have experience of managing oral health improvement programmes and would like the opportunity to share your expertise and manage others within the oral health improvement team to support communities to improve oral health outcomes, then joining this new team might be the job for you.
Main duties of the job
You will be expected to manage a team of oral health improvement practitioners while supporting the delivery of oral health improvement interventions to include, workforce development training, supervised toothbrushing programmes, Mouth Care Matters programmes, management of targeted toothbrushing resources and other evidence based interventions and evaluation across Birmingham.

Qualifications/Training
Essential
1. A degree or equivalent in health or social care in a subject relevant to public health or equivalent specialised experience in this field.
2. An appropriate clinical qualification in Oral Health Improvement. (post certification level and above)
3. Certificate in education and training
4. General Dental Council registration.
Experience
Essential
5. Experience of developing, delivering and managing oral health improvement projects across organisational boundaries.
6. Experience of leading a health improvement project or team.
7. Experience of working with clients with complex needs.
Skills/Knowledge
Essential
8. Skilled in delivering oral health improvement programmes and sharing information with a range of clinical and non clinical stakeholders both internally and externally of BCHCFT.
9. Ability to work to tight and often challenging timescales
10. Good written and verbal communication skills
11. Skilled in the use of a range of IT applications to collate information, monitor data and create reports.
12. Understanding of good practice in project management.
