Job Description
As a Financial Crime Analyst, you will be responsible for protecting the Group against financial crime threats by supporting the MLRO and Financial Crime team to establish and maintain a robust Financial Crime Prevention Framework. This includes ensuring controls are effective in mitigating the Group’s risk exposure.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Conducting thorough onboarding and ongoing customer due diligence, including unwrapping company structures to identify beneficial owners according to internal policies.
2. Identifying cases requiring enhanced due diligence to mitigate risks, especially with high-risk applicants.
3. Investigating PEP, sanction, and adverse media alerts, and recommending actions such as enhanced checks or declining business.
4. Reviewing Transaction Monitoring Reports to identify suspicious activities.
5. Handling business queries related to shareholder checks, foreign nationals, offshore companies, and other CCD queries within SLAs.
6. Performing prompt reviews of high-risk customers and determining necessary actions like risk level adjustments or additional controls.
7. Completing pre-accreditation checks on new intermediaries and due diligence on suppliers.
8. Investigating low and medium risk Suspicious Activity Reports, determining if external reporting is necessary, and advising relevant parties.
Qualifications
* Experience in a similar CDD/KYC/Financial Crime prevention role, preferably in retail financial services or secured lending.
* Knowledge of financial crime regulations, including Money Laundering Regulations and FCA requirements.
* Strong planning, interpersonal, and attention to detail skills, especially in investigations and reporting.
* Industry-recognized qualification such as ICA or ACAMS, or working towards it.
* Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, including experience with Excel dashboards.
