Development Coach Home based with occasional UK travel for meetings/visits Full time, Permanent Band 6 / Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 Join our dynamic team as a Development Coach here at Serco and have a meaningful impact on the lives of learners on our Apprenticeship programs. In this role, you will support a caseload of apprentices ensuring they achieve within established timeframes while delivering a learning experience that exceeds expectations. You will develop and implement personalised learning plans, coach, motivate and inspire learners to reach outstanding outcomes. Collaborating closely with our quality and compliance team, you will ensure top tier delivery and maintain high level evidence in line with regulatory requirements, and Serco’s high standards overall. Monitoring progress and addressing any concerns will be key, as you work with employees to support timely achievement of goals. As part of this you’ll: Develop and implement comprehensive learning plans for each learner from the start of their program, regularly reviewing progress and providing tailored advice and support based on individual needs. Motivate and guide learners to achieve outstanding learning and apprenticeship outcomes, adapting learning plans in response to feedback to maintain high engagement and performance levels. Collaborate with our quality and compliance team to ensure that all learner files meet the requirements of relevant bodies, including the Education Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) and Ofsted. Monitor learner progress closely, communicating any concerns or identifying at-risk learners to employers or line managers, and promptly implementing agreed action plans to ensure timely achievement of goals. Manage and deliver teaching and learning (and assessments where required) of candidates, including innovative teaching practices. Be responsible for individualising programmes, including goal setting that tailors the development programme to meet the specific skills needs of the learner and business. Teach learners in the workplace, face to face and remotely to support in the completion of their Apprenticeship standards (including assessing their abilities and supporting in the embedding of Functional Skills of English, Maths and ICT). Plan, implement and deliver high quality initial assessments, inductions, teaching and learning sessions and reviews of progress with learners and ensure all delivery meets quality and performance standards set. What you’ll need to do the role: Be an enthusiastic individual who is occupationally competent, experience in delivering/supporting English and maths would be an advantage. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with excellent interpersonal abilities to effectively engage with learners. You should be able to take the initiative and work independently while demonstrating outstanding organisational and time management skills. A background in teaching or training, or a solid understanding of these areas, will be beneficial as you inspire and support our learners on their journey to success. CAVA (or similar) qualified (desirable) Recognised Teaching Qualification at level 5 or above (or be willing to work towards) Experience of delivering teaching, learning and assessment. Knowledge/experience of apprenticeship frameworks / standards (desirable).
