At Bedford High School we believe that excellent student attendance and safeguarding is of upmost importance and as such, it is placed at the heart of everything we do.
We recognise the correlation between attendance and achievement and are looking for an experienced and dedicated Raising Achievement Officer to join a thriving attendance and safeguarding team. The successful candidate will be well organised, able to demonstrate professional attitude at all times, show attention to detail and have the ability to multi-task.
Each year group benefits from a designated Pastoral Manager (head of year), pastoral guidance officer and SLT year link. The successful candidate will work closely with the wider attendance and safeguarding team, addressing barriers to attendance and achievement. They will be managed by the deputy head with responsibility for raising achievement.
Bedford High School is a mixed comprehensive school, which was judged “good” by Ofsted in 2023. The school is now full throughout KS3 and KS4 with a waiting list of families.
Our school is based over 2 sites with excellent facilities which include our 3G pitch, beautiful green outside space, dedicated outside classroom and large Bistro food court area. Our students and staff also have access to a comprehensively fitted onsite gym and second food court area and building work is currently underway to expand our English facilities. Our inclusive values drive our vision and ethos across all stakeholder groups. Positive student/staff relationships, which are based on mutual respect embedding our SPIRIT ethos of Strive, Perseverance, Independence, Respect, Integrity and Tolerance are a key strength of our school.
