Minimum Qualifications:
* Marine Engineering qualification
* High levels of customer and Microsoft literacy
Experience required:
* Maritime professional with Engineering qualification and a background in commercial shipping or luxury yachting.
* Experience in working to tight deadlines/short turnarounds for work and an exceptional level of detail.
* Experience and aptitude in customer service.
* Experience of working in a 24/7 working environment and flexibility to travel for short periods.
* Experience with working with high and ultra-high net worth individuals or luxury brands.
* Ideally you will have relevant experience for this role, but training and support is given to candidates who we believe have the potential to succeed.

Job Description:
The Technical and Project Assistant role is based at our Team Valley office in Gateshead and comprises a combination of technical support for the Vessel Management team and support for the remotely operating Project Managers working on major refits or at new build yards.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Monitor the safety and environmental/pollution prevention aspects of the vessel operations and ensure that adequate resources and shore-based support is provided as required.
* Assist as directed with the monitoring of the safety and environmental/pollution prevention aspects of the vessel operations.
* Respond in a professional and timely manner to all client and supplier emails.
* Ensure the validity of vessel certificates.
* Day-to-day maintenance and monitoring of the technical-related Safety Management System and all required vessel specific documentation.
* Monitor changes to legislation and best practices.
* Receive, monitor, record and oversee observations, NCRs, accident reports, near misses, on-board management meeting minutes, hours of rest.
* Liaise with the Vessel Management Assistant regarding defect reports.
* Liaise directly with Flag Administrations and Classification Societies.
* Co-ordinate surveys and audits with Flag Administrations and Classification Societies.
* Liaise closely with the vessels to ensure effective control of all documents and information.
* Responsible for monitoring SMS Chapter 8 the Safety Management System “Emergency Preparations” and related certification and documentation requirements.
* Assist with new build projects and input on budgets for vessels outside of the managed fleet.
* Attend refits and prepare monthly build reports for various new build projects.
* Manage and maintain the list of documents, diagrams, files and drawings for all relevant projects in OneDrive, Google Drive and other software platforms.
* Monitor and develop yacht planned maintenance systems.
* Assist in the creation of refit specification and dry dock planning tender packs as required.
* Attend monthly management meetings, internal audits and DOC audits.
* Produce technical fleet notices for transmitting important new flag/class/industry requirements and safety information.
* Actively develop the company SMS manual and maintain company checklists and procedures.
* Prepare Technical Reports for clients as required.
* Procurement of stores and consumables for the vessels as required.
* Review and provide feedback for new build specifications as required.
* Be familiar with the company’s project management requirements depending on the contract and client.
* Keep the company and management department informed of any changes affecting the new build fleet.
