The Pest Control Team is responsible for delivering pest control services across Council property, and also at private dwellings and private business premises on a commercial basis. The post sits within the Pest Control Team within the Economic Development Directorate.
The Pest Control Team is relatively small and is seeking to recruit two Pest Control Technicians as part of its strategy to increase its commercial work.
About the job
The purpose of the job is to undertake Pest Control and associated duties under the general direction of the Pest Control Manager. The work to be undertaken includes the laying of rodenticides and application of insecticides.
What We Are Looking For From You
The education, experience, skills and abilities the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate include:
* Literacy and numeracy skills, being able to produce written reports and carry out routine administrative tasks;
* Experience of working in front line customer service environment with a desire to provide a high level of customer service;
* An ability to undertake the routine maintenance of pest control equipment;
* An ability to prioritise workload and remain calm under pressure;
* An ability to work alone and as part of a team;
* An ability to communicate effectively;
* Availability to work outside normal working hours when required;
* A willingness to participate in training leading to the award of a recognised qualification in pest control.
Previous experience of working in a pest control environment or holding a Pest Control Qualification would be an advantage. It is important that applicants do not have any allergies to wasp/bee stings or phobias of insects or rodents.

The possession of a full, valid driving licence is required for these posts.
