We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated Qualified Dental Nurse to work as part of the team in the HDFT Community Dental Services. The post will be placed on the AFC Band 4 pay scale.
The Community Dental Service is a specialised service that provides dental treatment for children, adults, and older people who, because of additional needs such as learning disabilities, physical disabilities, or vulnerability, are unable to access general dental care.
This vacancy is for 37.5 hours with the flexibility for part-time hours to be considered. The successful candidate will be based at Northway Clinic and will work as part of the East Locality Community Dental Services team.
Main duties of the job
* Carry out clerical and administrative duties to ensure efficient operation of the clinic.
* Responsible for ensuring a high standard of infection prevention control is maintained within the dental clinics.

Job responsibilities
The Salaried Primary Care Dental Services sits within the Community Children and Countywide Care Directorate. The Salaried Primary Care Dental Service provides comprehensive clinical and administrative procedures for patients, both children and adults, including those who may have special needs, challenging behaviour, communication difficulties, dental phobias, and sensitive and/or complicated medical histories.
Person Specification
* Good general education with skills in written and oral English and basic maths.
* NEBDN Certificate and/or an appropriate professional qualification or equivalent.
* Registered with General Dental Council as a Dental Care Professional.
* Experience as a Dental Nurse of 3 years.
* Up-to-date knowledge in all areas of Dental Nursing.
* Competent in basic MS Office and IT Applications.
* Additional Qualifications in one of the following: Sedation, Radiography, Special Care Dentistry, Oral Health Promotion.
* ECDL or similar information technology training.
* Experience of working with patients with special care needs.
* Experience of previous dental administration.
* Experience of working with SOE (Software of Excellence).

Salary: £26,530 to £29,114 a year (pro rata)
