Are you an Electrical Maintenance Engineer passionate about maintaining exceptionally high factory standards?
An opportunity has arisen to join a Food Manufacturing Group based in North Lanarkshire.
This role is a full-time position and offers a competitive salary of circa £40-46K. The hours are split into one-week dayshift, one-week backshift and include just 10 Saturdays per year, where a 6-hour 6am – 12pm maintenance shift is performed. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out electrical maintenance and repairs to ensure maximum plant availability and assisting with project, installation, and commissioning of equipment as appropriate.
To be considered for this role, you must hold a recognised Electrical Engineering qualification and are preferably trained in the 18th Edition Electrical Regulations. You must have good analytical and root cause analysis skills and experience working within a Continuous Improvement/Lean Environment. Basic knowledge of Food Safety, such as REHIS food safety and IOSH Working Safely or equivalent Health and Safety qualification, is also preferred.
Throughout your role, you must always comply with safe working practices and report any safety concerns to the Maintenance Manager. Resolving electrical and mechanical plant failures will be a crucial part of your role, as well as completing PPM according to the schedule and as directed by the Maintenance Manager. You will also be required to complete line change-overs as efficiently as possible according to the production plan and work closely with the hygiene team to strip and re-build the plant to allow access for cleaning purposes.
As well as completing engineering work requests promptly, you will also assist as appropriate with the design, installation, and commissioning of new equipment and compile downtime reports post-plant breakdowns. Training Technical Operators where applicable, to carry out essential maintenance tasks is also part of the role, as well as effectively communicating with the production team when completing work on lines during production. You may also be required to complete other reasonable duties as requested by the Maintenance Manager.
