Apprentices will undertake an initial structured departmental induction and training programme throughout the apprenticeship to provide support and assistance to the Cardiac Physiologists within the Diagnostic Cardiology Department as well as undertaking basic point of care investigations such as ECG, baseline observations and application and removal of ambulatory monitors and event recorders. The main purpose of the department is to perform clinical physiology investigations with promptness, accuracy and thoroughness on patients with known or suspected heart disease and to do it in such a way as to provide excellent patient care. The post holder will provide an electrocardiography recording service for both in and outpatients in a variety of settings. The post holder will also be required to assist with Cardiology outpatient clinics.
