Position:
We have an exciting opportunity for an Applications Designer to join our team based at our office in Kingswinford.
The purpose of this role is to use a combination of In-house software and Solidworks to produce high quality, accurate, 3D Stairlift models with accompanying technical drawings for Customers, Installation and Manufacture.
Key outputs and deliverables include:
* Produce 3D Models and accompanying technical drawings using a combination of In-House software and Solidworks within agreed KPI’s and in line with processes and training matrix.
* Complete revisions, reworks, checking, feasibilities and dxf’s as appropriate and within KPI’s
* Liaise and support engineers and surveyors to resolve design issues/queries
* Use D365 F&O System to update order progress through the business
* Support TPS, Field Service, Surveyors, Sales, Rework Team, Production and R&D in resolving customer queries
* Raise and respond to corrective actions that improve quality of the product, processes, software
* Assist the customer service team as appropriate with complaints
* Be involved in and instigate any process/ customer service improvements for the team
* Take, and resolve technical queries for wide range of problems with lift products (e.g. resolve abort technicalities);
* Any other duties deemed reasonable, which reasonably correspond to the general character of the role and level of responsibility.
Requirements:
* Literate & Numerate Maths & English GCSE (or Equivalent)
* 4 x other GCSE’s (or equivalent qualification or experience)
* A Design, CAD or Engineering qualification or experience, desirable but not essential
* Excellent customer service skills
* Technically competent
* Good communicator both verbal and written at all levels
* Ability to look for improvements in processes/ procedures
* Attention to detail & focussed
* PC literate (e.g. office, word, excel, PowerPoint)
* Worked in a design or technical environment, desirable but not essential
* Solidworks, AutoCad or similar programme knowledge and experience desirable but not essential
