The Company
A leading Food Manufacture who is rapidly expanding has a new state-of-the-art milling facility. A leading business that makes and sells flour and mixes to all sectors of the food industry. It has an enviable reputation for quality and service especially with regard to modern production methods. The company has been on an exciting and successful growth plan and as well as the new mill has also recently completed a major investment in building a state-of-the-art, purpose-built blending and packaging facility located near its existing site.
We are looking for an experienced and trained Head Miller / Factory Manager to lead the milling team at there new mill.
Job Role
Key responsibilities include:
* To maintain the optimum performance of the plant whilst ensuring the quality of the product is in line with company standards.
* Liaising with the Maintenance Team to ensure preventative maintenance and breakdowns are dealt with in a timely manner.
* Ensuring that the highest standards of GMP are maintained throughout the mill.
* Active membership of the HACCP team.
* Be responsible for promoting a positive Food safety culture.
* Reviewing operational procedures and work instructions within the quality system.
* Providing training, coaching and mentoring of mill staff in all aspects of their duties.
* Participating in the production management call-out rota.
* Maintaining stocks of ingredients and consumables and ordering these when necessary.
* Ensuring budgetary targets are maintained and action is taken to control costs.
* Ensuring the Health and Safety of the milling team and contractors working in the mill.
Key attributes include:
* Proven record as a flour miller.
* In-depth knowledge of the workings of a modern flour mill.
* Qualifications in flour milling preferably UK Flour Millers (Nabim)
* Ability to lead, motivate and organise their team.
* Good communication skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels.
* Strong organisational skills for planning production, staff, maintenance and hygiene.
* Good budget-handling skills.
* The ability to work flexibly and within a team with a “can do” and “hands-on” approach.
* Good IT skills and experience working with SCADA and process control systems.
* Ability to run a shift should it become necessary.
