About Our Client
The business is a private equity-owned insurance group. The Group has recently been acquired by a new investor, who are looking to support the management team to continue to grow the business organically and through M&A. As part of this, the Group is seeking a new Financial Controller who will join the senior management team to run the finance function day to day, play a part in M&A and integration of new businesses from a finance perspective, and ultimately be a part of an ambitious team looking to grow the business and participate in another successful exit in the coming years.
Job Description
* Day to day management of both the Core Finance and FinOps functions (11 direct reports) and their outputs.
* Provision of monthly consolidated management accounts and supporting MI to the board, investors, and other key stakeholders.
* FP&A activities, providing the business with regular insights across all aspects of the Group to inform decision making.
* Delivery of quarterly reforecasts and annual budgets (including rolling 5 year look forward).
* Preparation of standalone and Group financial statements, being the primary contact for all statutory audit, taxation, and company secretarial compliance.
* Completion of RMAR returns and other compliance reporting for both regulated entities.
* Responsible for all treasury related matters including bank covenant reporting and forecasting.
* Working with our Investors/Board on corporate development activities, including M&A.
* Deputising for CFO when required.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Group Financial Controller should have:
* ACA or equivalent qualification, preferably with a practice background.
* Experience in a regulated environment, ideally within Insurance/Financial Services (direct industry experience is not required but experience of high volume, transactional businesses is advantageous).
* Previous experience of managing/developing a high performing finance function.
* Comfortable with analysing large volumes of data, being able to distil and articulate your findings into actionable insights.
* Strong all-rounder. Comfortable in precise reporting of actuals and consolidation and preparation of forward-looking budgets and forecasts.
* Ability to work well with non-finance individuals from across the business and have a commercial focus.
