Position : Head of Philanthropy Reporting to : Director Salary : £52,500 per annum – pro rata – 4 day working week Location: East Anglia - the gallery is based in Colchester The role is based at our gallery with frequent meetings with external stakeholders. Role Overview Join our experienced senior management team as our new Head of Philanthropy, where you'll spearhead the creation and execution of a robust philanthropy strategy for Firstsite. Your role will be pivotal in driving growth in revenue streams, both existing and new. About Firstsite Founded in 1993, Firstsite is a contemporary art gallery in Colchester, Essex. It is the largest public gallery in the East region housed within an award-winning building designed by Rafael Vinoly. Firstsite is a registered charity and is governed by a board of trustees. Rosie Millard, OBE is Chair of the trustees and Sally Shaw, MBE is Firstsite’s Director. About the Role As the Head of Philanthropy reporting directly to the Director, you'll lead multiple fundraising initiatives, including our membership programme, Director's Circle, sponsorships, and general donations. Your role is pivotal in creating a philanthropy strategy aligned with our programmes and business plan, ensuring a cohesive approach that elevates Firstsite's reputation, innovation, and impact. Your efforts will drive new funds to propel Firstsite to new heights of creativity and inspiration. About you We would love to hear from you if you have the skills, capability, knowledge or track record in: Designing, implementing and delivering impactful fundraising strategies that drive organisational growth Ability to cultivate and maintain stakeholder networks, locally and internationally Leadership experience at a senior level within a diverse organisation Collaborative mindset with a demonstrated ability to work in partnership within a fast-paced environment Budgetary experience to develop and deliver programs aligning with Firstsite’s creative and innovative vision Proficiency in gathering data and evaluative materials to produce impactful and timely reports for all supporters and funders involved in Firstsite’s philanthropic efforts.
