Join our professional skilled team as the Tenancy Coordinator, where you'll be integral to delivering specialist tenancy services. This role presents a unique opportunity to offer professional support and guidance to our member organization's (Housing Cooperatives).
Reporting to the Cooperative Services Manager, you'll leverage your tenancy expertise to help shape organisational direction, empower volunteers to make a positive impact in their communities, and foster sustainable tenancies.
In this dynamic role, you will:
* Independently manage the full range of tenancy responsibilities, ensuring compliance with the Residential Tenancies Act and social housing guidelines. This includes tasks such as tenant allocation, addressing tenancy inquiries and concerns, processing bonds, managing lease agreements and renewals, overseeing rent and arrears, conducting property inspections, and maintaining accurate tenancy records.
* Represent Common Equity in relation to any dispute in the South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
* Provide training, guidance, and support to volunteer Tenancy Officers who assist with various tenancy duties for their housing co-operatives.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and best practices that ensure the delivery of quality services and monitor performance and compliance.
* Identify, establish, and maintain relationships with external agencies that can provide support and referral services to tenants.
About you: Desired Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have a background in community or social housing and possess the following qualifications and skills:
* A relevant degree with experience, or an associate diploma paired with substantial related experience, or less formal qualifications supported by highly relevant specialised skills.
* Comprehensive knowledge of tenancy management principles, regulatory requirements, community housing requirements and the Residential Tenancies Act.
* Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively via telephone and email.
* Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to independently initiate, coordinate, and prioritise competing projects and tasks.
* Proficiency in administration and information technology, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and database management.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Current Driver's License & access to an insured vehicle.
* DHS Working with Children Check & National Police Clearance to be obtained prior to employment commencement.
